Saturation Point is an international survey of Reductive Art curated by British Reductive artists, Patrick Morrissey and Clive Hanz Hancock. They have gathered together a diverse cross section of established practitioners from across the world whose contributions towards this exhibition respond uniquely to the theme of Saturation created by the two man collective.
The exhibition hopes to be characterised, and to present to the audience, some of the most salient features of this genre, namely intellectual vigour, aesthetic integrity, and a high calibre of physical presentation.
From Morrissey’s shimmering canvases, Hancock’s sublime reliefs, to Cecilia Visser’s uniquely enigmatic works, the show encapsulates the development and crossover, that has determined the progress of this area of activity from its inception in the 20th century, to the extraordinary range of its contemporary manifestation.
Morrissey and Hancock will be taking part of this show later to a new gallery in Hoxton Square, London (details to follow) and will also be showing at Allegra la Viola in NYC and Detroit in early 2012.
Morrissey and Hancock are developing Saturation Point as an annual curated event, continuing to invite practitioners in this field.
